Abdullah ibn Abi Hadrad

A relatively new convert of the region whom the Prophet ﷺ sent to mingle unrecognized among the gathering pagan tribes before Ḥunayn and count their numbers. He returned reporting some twenty thousand men with their arms and herds. When ʿUmar doubted the report, he retorted that ʿUmar had once doubted one better than himself, an allusion to ʿUmar's own delay in accepting Islam, and the Prophet ﷺ gently defused it: "You were astray, ʿUmar, and Allāh guided you."
