Abdullah ibn Busr

A young Companion who lived on into the Umayyad era in Damascus and was among the last of the Ṣaḥābah to die. The Prophet ﷺ had foretold he would reach a full century. In old age he would tell his students that ninety-five of those years had passed and he awaited only five more before meeting his Lord; the student who narrated this in Ibn ʿAsākir reckoned, when the news of his death reached him, that it had been exactly five years since. He died at the age of one hundred, and, fittingly for a righteous man, passed away in the very act of performing wuḍūʾ.
