Biography
An Arab who, for payment, guided Abraha's army through the mountain passes towards the Kaʿbah. His betrayal made his name a byword among the Arabs, who long said “more treacherous than Abu Rughal.”
Significance
His betrayal in leading the Army of the Elephant became a byword for treachery in classical Arabic.
