al-Harith ibn Aws
الحَارِث بن أَوْسal-Ḥārith ibn Aws
Biography
al-Ḥārith ibn Aws was an Anṣārī Companion from the Aws tribe who participated in the operation against Kaʿb ibn al-Ashraf. During the melee in the dark, as the group struck Kaʿb who was wearing heavy personal armor, al-Ḥārith ibn Aws was struck by the blades of his own companions in the confusion of the night attack and was severely wounded, bleeding badly. He was unable to walk properly and had to be helped back to Madinah. When the group returned and the Prophet ﷺ received them, he placed his saliva on al-Ḥārith's wounds and they healed instantly, recorded as one of the minor miracles (muʿjizāt) of the Prophet ﷺ in the Madinan period.
