Biography
al-Mundhir ibn Qudāmah was a Ṣaḥābī from among the Anṣār whom the Prophet ﷺ placed in charge of guarding the captured men of Banū Qaynuqāʿ after their surrender in 15 Shawwāl 2 AH. When ʿAbdullāh ibn Ubayy ibn Salūl, the leader of the hypocrites, physically grabbed the Prophet's armor and began demanding that the Prophet spare and release the prisoners, al-Mundhir confronted him directly and said: "If you dare try to free even one of them, I will kill you." His intervention helped maintain order and ensured that the Prophet's judgment of expulsion was carried out.
Significance
Minor Companion known for his role in guarding the Banū Qaynuqāʿ prisoners and confronting ʿAbdullāh ibn Ubayy when he tried to interfere with the Prophet's judgment.
