Asim ibn Thabit

ʿĀṣim ibn Thābit was a Companion of the Prophet (ﷺ) known as an expert archer. At Uḥud, he carried out the Prophet's (ﷺ) order to execute Abū ʿAzzah al-Jumaḥī after Abū ʿAzzah was captured a second time, having broken his sworn parole from Badr by rejoining the fight against the Muslims. ʿĀṣim would later be martyred in the tragic expedition of ar-Rajīʿ, where the Quraysh, remembering his role in Uḥud, offered a bounty for his head; his body was said to have been protected from desecration by a swarm of hornets/bees, by Allah's decree.
