Biography
The Qurayshī who, after Badr, ambushed the Prophet's ﷺ daughter Zaynab as she was being sent from Mecca to Medina, striking at her howdah with his spear so that she fell and, being pregnant, miscarried. Named among those denied amnesty at the Conquest, he nonetheless reached the Prophet ﷺ, repented, and was forgiven. Muslim tradition remembers his line in the Habbārid dynasty that later ruled Sindh from Manṣūrah.
Significance
On the amnesty-exception list for the attack that killed Zaynab's unborn child, yet pardoned when he repented.
