Hisham ibn Subabah

Biography
Hishām ibn Ṣubābah was an Anṣārī Companion killed by friendly fire during the expedition of al-Muraysīʿ (5 AH), the only Muslim casualty of the campaign, when another Companion mistook him in the confusion for an enemy fighter. His death led to a further tragedy: his non-Muslim brother, Miqyas ibn Ṣubābah, feigned conversion to Islam in order to claim blood-money from the Prophet (ﷺ), then murdered the man he believed responsible before fleeing back to Mecca with the payment still in hand.
Significance
The only Muslim casualty of the expedition of al-Muraysi, killed by mistaken friendly fire; his death set off a chain of events involving his brother Miqyas's false conversion and revenge killing
