Biography

Maymūnah bint al-Ḥārith would later become one of the Prophet's () wives (a marriage that took place some years after this period). She was the maternal half-sister of Zaynab bint Khuzaymah, the two shared the same mother but different fathers, and one of five daughters of that same mother who each married men of great standing. Through this family, Maymūnah was the maternal aunt of both ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAbbās and Khālid ibn al-Walīd, whose mothers were her sisters.

Significance

Maternal half-sister of Zaynab bint Khuzaymah and later a wife of the Prophet (ﷺ) herself; her family network of sisters connected her by aunthood to both Abdullah ibn Abbas and Khalid ibn al-Walid
