Musaylimah al-Kadhdhab

Musaylimah al-Kadhdhāb ("the Liar") was a member of Banū Ḥanīfah of al-Yamāmah who, after the Prophet's ﷺ death, became the most prominent of the roughly ten individuals across Arabia who falsely claimed prophethood during the Riddah (Wars of Apostasy). He gathered a substantial following within his own tribe, in contrast to his tribesman Thumāmah ibn Uthāl, who had genuinely embraced Islam years earlier and fought against Musaylimah's forces alongside the Muslims. Musaylimah was ultimately killed at the Battle of al-Yamāmah during the Riddah campaigns led under Abū Bakr's khilāfah.
