Biography

Quss ibn Sāʿidah of Banu Iyād was an aged and famously eloquent preacher of pre-Islamic Arabia, counted among the Ḥunafāʾ. The Prophet heard him as a young man proclaiming the certainty of death and the reckoning, and that 'there is a religion dearer to Allah than the one you follow.' Years later the Prophet recalled him riding a red camel and praised his words.

Significance

A Hanif whose eloquence and warning of the reckoning the Prophet ﷺ remembered and praised.
