Qutaylah bint Abd al-Uzza

Qutaylah bint ʿAbd al-ʿUzzā was Abū Bakr’s first wife and the mother of his two children Asmāʾ bint Abī Bakr and ʿAbdullāh ibn Abī Bakr. She did not accept Islam, and Abū Bakr divorced her after his conversion. Years later, she visited Asmāʾ in Madinah, and the Prophet ﷺ permitted Asmāʾ to maintain kindness and family ties with her non-Muslim mother.
