Biography
Ruqayyah رضي الله عنها was a daughter of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and Khadijah رضي الله عنها. She was married to ʿUthmān ibn ʿAffān رضي الله عنه, and the two of them were among the earliest emigrants to Abyssinia, seeking refuge from the persecution of Quraysh. She died in Madīnah during the Battle of Badr; the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم was away at Badr when she passed, and he buried her with his own hands upon his return.
