Salamah ibn Hisham

Salamah ibn Hishām was a companion who fought at the Battle of Mu'tah and, upon returning, found himself mocked and shunned as one of the "furrār", those who fled the battlefield, a smear so painful he stopped leaving his house and attending the masjid. When the Prophet ﷺ noticed his absence and learned the reason from his wife, he publicly corrected the record: the returning fighters were not furrār but kurrār, those who withdraw only to fight again, ending the smear campaign with a single word.
