Biography
Thuwaybah was the slave girl of Abu Lahab, whom he freed in his joy at the birth of the Prophet ﷺ. She became the first to nurse the infant Prophet ﷺ, before Halimah al-Saʿdiyah, and so holds an honoured place in his story.
Significance
The first to nurse the Prophet ﷺ; her freeing at his birth was the one deed that eased Abu Lahab in the grave.
