Ukaydir ibn Abd al-Malik

Ukaydir ibn ʿAbd al-Malik was the Christian Arab ruler of Dūmat al-Jandal, a northern outpost associated with the Kindah tribe and Rome. During the Expedition of Tabūk, Khālid ibn al-Walīd captured him away from his guard. Ukaydir accepted a treaty, agreed to pay jizyah, and ended his alignment against the Muslims; later reports differ over whether he accepted Islam.
