Biography
Umm al-Faḍl, whose given name was Lubābah, was one of five daughters of the same mother as Zaynab bint Khuzaymah and Maymūnah bint al-Ḥārith. She married al-ʿAbbās ibn ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib, the Prophet's (ﷺ) uncle, and bore him two of the most prominent Companions of the following generation: al-Faḍl ibn al-ʿAbbās and ʿAbdullāh ibn al-ʿAbbās, the great scholar and exegete of the Qurʾān.
