Umm Hani bint Abi Talib

A daughter of Abū Ṭālib and full sister of ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib, and thus a first cousin of the Prophet ﷺ whom she had known from childhood, though she accepted Islam only at the Conquest. When two of her in-laws fled fearing ʿAlī's revenge, she sheltered them and barred her own brother from the door; the Prophet ﷺ upheld her, "We grant protection to whomever you protect." It is in her house that day that the only report of the Prophet ﷺ praying Ṣalāt al-Ḍuḥā, eight rakʿahs, is preserved, a prayer he otherwise kept to the privacy of his home.
