Uthman ibn Abi al-'As

ʿUthmān ibn Abī al-ʿĀṣ was the youngest member of the delegation Thaqīf sent to Madinah in Ramaḍān of 9 AH, and he embraced Islam before the rest of them did. While the senior men sat in the guest tent negotiating terms, he spent his days outside it, with the Prophet ﷺ memorising the Qurʾān, and with Abū Bakr learning how to pray.

When the delegation was about to leave, Abū Bakr suggested to the Prophet ﷺ that ʿUthmān be made their leader, and he agreed: the youngest of them was set over the elders because he was the most eager for the Qurʾān and for Islam, having learned some sūrahs and some fiqh in fifteen days. It was to him, as leader of Thaqīf, that the Prophet ﷺ sent the instruction to build a masjid on the spot where the idol al-Lāt had stood.
