Biography
Al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib was a son of Abdul-Muttalib and an uncle of the Prophet ﷺ, and the forefather of the Abbasid line. He embraced Islam and is the narrator of the report in which he saw his brother Abu Lahab in a dream after his death, eased only by the few drops of water granted for freeing Thuwaybah at the Prophet's ﷺ birth.
