Biography
Ayman ibn ʿUbayd رضي الله عنه was the son of Umm Ayman (Barakah bint Thaʿlabah) from her first husband ʿUbayd ibn Zayd of the tribe of al-Khazraj in Yathrib, before her marriage to Zayd ibn Ḥārithah. He gave his mother her famous kunya, Umm Ayman, the mother of Ayman. He lived to see Islam, believed in the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, and was martyred at the battle of Ḥunayn. He was a half-brother of Usāmah ibn Zayd.
