Biography
Ṣafiyyah bint ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib رضي الله عنها was the full paternal aunt of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, one of the daughters of ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib. She accepted Islam and was among the companions. On the day the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم proclaimed Islām publicly from the mountain of Ṣafāʾ to all of Quraysh, she was one of those called by name: 'O Ṣafiyyah, the aunt of the Messenger of Allah, save yourself from the fire of Hell.' She is also the mother of al-Zubayr ibn al-ʿAwwām, the Prophet's صلى الله عليه وسلم Ḥawārī.
