Yasir ibn Amir

Yāsir ibn ʿĀmir رضي الله عنه was a Yemeni man who had come to Makkah and had no tribal protection from any clan of Quraysh. He was among the earliest converts to Islām. He, his wife Sumayyah, and his son ʿAmmār were tortured on the burning sands of Makkah by Abū Jahl and others. Yāsir was martyred for his faith. When the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم passed by them as they were being tortured, he said: 'Patience, O family of Yāsir, your appointment is Paradise.'
