The Care of Abu Talib

Abu Talib took his nephew into his modest home. Although he had many children and little wealth, he treated Muhammad with immense love, often favoring him over his own sons. He would not eat until Muhammad was present, and the food would miraculously suffice for everyone when the Prophet ate with them.

Abu Talib became his fortress. He protected him, taught him the ways of the Quraysh, and took him to the tribal assemblies. This bond would last for over forty years, with Abu Talib standing as a wall between the Prophet and his enemies until his very last breath.
